Fireplaces or wood stoves have been used to heat residential, commercial and industrial buildings and establishments for so many years. Until now, the use of fireplaces or wood stoves remains to be very popular and widely used all over the world. There are also huge development and improvement in the design and look of most modern and commercially available wood stoves. Also other types of stoves were also developed such as the pellet burning stoves, which are now available as an alternative to traditional fireplaces.
Pellet wood stoves use pellets as fuel to generate heat. These pellet stoves are made up of three main parts: the hopper, the heating system and the fan system. The wood pellets are initially stored in the refillable hopper; depending on the hopper size, a pellet stove can store from 30 to 130 lbs of pellets. The pellets are evenly fed to the heating system to generate heat.
The fan system is needed for efficient stove performance. The fan sucks in air from the room to aid in generating hot air. The hot air is then dispersed back to the room and in other areas of the house. There is also a built-in exhaust fan in pellet stoves specifically made for venting out the fuel generated gasses.
Each part of the pellet stove plays a significant role in the heating mechanism of pellet stoves. If one component malfunctions, there could be a great impact on the stove’s efficiency. With this, proper maintenance is required to achieve optimum performance of pellet stoves.
