Gone are the days when women were regarded as the weaker of the sexes. Before, and in many cultures and traditions, women used to be treated differently than men. In many third world countries where culture and tradition is like the blood that flows on human beings’ veins, discrimination on women and women’s rights is still wide spread. Sadly however, because of this strict culture and tradition, discrimination on women has become an accepted part of the norm and is most likely to stay for generations to come. On the other hand though, in spite of this sad reality, in many advanced and civilized countries women empowerment has come a long way. Women are now regarded as equals with men. Whatever men can do, women can do as well and even better. There are many jobs or work that is designed specifically for women only and will only be accomplished best with a woman’s touch. There is no field great or small that women have not yet engaged in. Women are now engaged in politics and in some countries, women have been elected as president. There are women engineers, women architects, women CEOs, women entrepreneurs, women scientists, they are everywhere.

So next time you will come across a damsel in distress, think again if she will really need a rescue from prince charming. You’ll never know when men will need the rescuing for themselves.
