Even the most communicative guys have moments when they zip their mouth for initially unfathomable reasons for you. If he shuts his mouth for the unexpected of times, there is probably a big reason why he does so. Here are some possible explanations why suddenly he does not want to talk to anyone, sadly even to you.

One reason can be that he is feeling guilty about something that he unintentionally did since it really does matter that much if it is something bad. Guys know that women can easily read them thus to avoid sending out the wrong vibes or giving himself with his words, he decides to just shut his mouth. Yet not to worry since most occasions that men shut their mouth due to the feeling of guilt are done for minor offenses they wish they did not commit such as lying to go out with friends or casually texting an ex.

Another reason could be that you had been so hard on him that he wants you to cool down or probably you made a comment so out loud that he felt stupid he just want to give you the cold shoulder. If this is the case, you must be able to read the hints he give out and properly back down so as not cause more damage on him.

Last reason could be that he simply had a rough day. Most of the time, guys would want to let their steam off by being quiet instead of talking and reliving how bad the day was. Let him be and after a while he will surely get back to his old self.
